When it comes to online gaming, especially on PC, there can be a lot of different reasons why connections don’t always work as expected - from local network specifics to router settings or software conflicts.
It can be tricky to pin down the exact cause right away, but we recommend attempting the following workarounds first, to eliminate any possible network setting issues:
Restart your Router/Modem and PC
Restarting your router might feel like a simple step, but it often clears out temporary glitches and refreshes your connection with your ISP - making it one of the quickest and most effective ways to fix connectivity issues.
- Power off your router/modem and PC for ~30 seconds, then turn them back on.
Disable VPNs, Firewall, or Antivirus temporarily
These can sometimes block game connections.
- Turn them off briefly, launch the game to test, then turn them back on.
Add the Game/Launcher to Firewall & Antivirus exceptions
Allows the game to communicate freely through the Network.
- Go to firewall/antivirus settings → add the game’s .exe file and launcher to the exception/allow list.
You can find more detailed instructions here: How to add the Game/Launcher to Firewall & Antivirus exceptions
Close background programs using Internet
Streaming or Torrents can eat bandwidth & cause lag.
- Temporarily close any background apps like YouTube, Netflix, or torrent clients before playing.
Run Game/Launcher as Administrator
Helps avoid permission-related network errors.
- Right-click the game/launcher icon → select “Run as administrator”.
You can find more detailed instructions here: How to Run the Game as Administrator
Change DNS to Google (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4)
A new DNS can resolve address lookup issues.
- Settings → Network → Adapter → Properties → IPv4 → Use custom DNS → enter 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4.
Flush DNS
Sometimes your DNS cache keeps old data that can cause connection issues - flushing it can refresh your network lookup.
1. Press Win + R, type `cmd` > Enter > type: ipconfig /flushdns
2. Press Enter - you should see a confirmation message.
Winsock Reset
Resets network socket settings that may be corrupted.
- Open Command Prompt (as Admin) → type netsh winsock reset → press Enter → restart PC.
Reset Network Settings or Adapter
Clears old configs that may conflict with game connection.
- Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced → Network reset → follow prompts.
Check NAT or Port Forwarding in your router.
Blocked ports can prevent proper connection when playing online.
- If your router blocks UDP ports 5055–5058, open alternative ports:
- Name Server: 27000
- Master Server: 27001
- Game Server: 27002
Please keep in mind that port forwarding usually requires a static IP address. If you’re not sure, we recommend reaching out to your Internet Service Provider for assistance.
Note: Opening ports can expose your network to potential security risks. Only adjust these settings if you’re comfortable doing so, or ask your ISP to guide you through it safely.
Ensure Time/Date settings are correct
Wrong time/date can block secure server connections.
- Settings → Time & Language → Sync with internet.
If issue persists:
Try connecting through a mobile hotspot - this can help check if it’s your local network or the PC itself causing trouble.
Please submit a ticket to our Support Team, including all of the following:
- Go to SpeedTest.net and press "Go". Wait until testing is finished, take a screenshot of the results and include it in your request.
- Attach screenshots of any error messages or codes you are seeing.
- Include a detailed description of your issue.
